Il Portogallo è l’ottavo paese ad aver ratificato l’Accordo sul Tribunale unificato dei brevetti: la ratifica è stata comunicata ufficialmente al Consiglio dell’Unione Europea il 28 agosto 2015.
L’Accordo sul Tribunale unificato dei brevetti può entrare in vigore soltanto se ratificato dalla Francia, dalla Germania e dal Regno Unito, oltre che da altri 10 paesi firmatari dell’accordo.
L’Italia, che è fra i paesi firmatari, non ha però ancora ratificato l’accordo. Nel maggio 2015, annunciando l’adesione dell’Italia al brevetto unitario, il governo si era anche impegnato a procedere alla ratifica dell’accordo in tempi molto rapidi.

Portugal became the 8th country to ratify the Unified Patent Court Agreement (UPCA) on 28th August 2015, when its decision was officially notified to the Council of the European Union.
The UPCA can come into force only after the ratification of France, Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as of 10 other UPCA signatory countries.
Italy is among signatory countries but has not yet ratified the UPCA. In May 2015, upon announcing that Italy would join the unitary patent, the Italian government had promised that it would also proceed with ratification of the UPCA in a short time.
